About BSAR

BSAR (Buckinghamshire Search and Rescue) was established in 1987 by the County Emergency Planning Officer at Bucks County Council to provide a pool of volunteers, trained in emergency procedures and First Aid, ready to assist the full time emergency services in the event of a major incident. Incidents may include natural disasters such as floods and gales, or man-made ones such as plane or train crashes.

More recently BSAR became an independent charity and extended its services to cover Search, which means its skills are now used on a more regular basis.

BSAR currently has over 40 volunteers of all ages, who meet and train regularly. When needed they are contacted via SMS phone messages.
